Lutein and zeaxanthin are secondary plant substances belonging to the carotenoids. Both substances accumulate in the macula, a yellow spot on the retina of the eye. The macular pigment derived from these two elements appears yellow and protects the eyes from damaging wavelengths of light.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is concentrated in the cornea and lens of the eye. There it contributes to the maintenance of normal eyesight and normal mucous membranes, which especially helps protect the lens.

Beta-carotene is the most important precursor of vitamin A (retinol). It is therefore also called provitamin A and helps ensure high bioavailability of vitamin A, since it to some extent provides replenishment.

Vitamin A (retinol) contributes to the maintenance of normal eyesight. It has special significance for light-dark vision and supports the immune system.
